Hey, Laurie, it's Josuke! You gonna be free next weekend? I just found out about this awesome coral reef state park. It's a few hours away, but I thought it'd be a lot of fun to go with someone. How about it?

[And so begins Josuke's attempt to play matchmaker between Jonathan and Laurie.]

Oh, uh... Yeah. I think I'm free. You know, barring something exploding or whatever.

Is there, like, snorkeling involved, or..?

Great!

There's definitely gonna be snorkeling and scuba diving, and I think they offer those boat tours with the glass bottoms? And we can go fishing or kayaking there, too!

Oh. The boat thing might be a good idea, 'cause, you know...

You don't think it's going to be too cold for hanging out in the water?

In Florida? I think we'll be fine. Unless you're really sensitive to the cold or something?

[In which case, Jonathan can just be a gentleman and keep her warm or something like that. Yeah, this is a perfect plan.]

I guess not. It's a lot colder where I grew up. It's still winter, though, and it's always colder being wet than dry. We can take our chances, though. I don't mind.

Anyway, I should pack a swimsuit, I guess? Anything else?

Maaaybe a sweater, just in case.

[Probably, the dive tours will provide wetsuits and that will keep both Laurie and Jonathan warm despite the seasonal temperature of the water, but having a sweater to slip into afterwards still couldn't hurt.]

And money if you wanna pick up souvenirs or something? I dunno if that's your thing but... [Jonathan will probably be bringing stuff back.] ...well, I'm gonna wind up with a bunch of stuff, probably.

Oh? Are you a shopping fan?

I wouldn't mind a side trip for some beach kitsch. I'll bring one of my super-big purses.

Oh yeah, huge fan! Especially if I'm going someplace new!

[Heh. Jonathan's gonna kill him. But it'll have been worth it.]

Great, then. Our itinerary will be easy to figure out.

What day were you thinking of going?

Saturday morning! Bright and early. There's a bus that'll drive down there. It's about a four hour trip, but there'll probably be a lot of cool shit to see on the way.

[And plenty of time for Laurie and Jonathan to sit all cozily next to each other and talk! He's such a good matchmaker.]

Wow. Hopefully that's not too much for a day trip. I can do bright and early, though.

Heck, I'll bring coffee. Do we meet at the station?

Don't worry about it. My invite, my treat.

[He wouldn't be a very good stand-in for Cupid if he didn't help these two out a little bit, right?]

Bus leaves at seven-thirty, so we should be fine if you just meet me at the stop at the station around seven.
